Kevin, a Glaswegian to his core, is a writer and spoken word artist who’s as familiar with life on the stage as a poet is with words; writing and performing poetry has been his passion for over 10 years.
Kevin’s voice is powerful, smooth and authentic with all the heart and sincerity that his words truly reflect. He is consistently emotive as an expert on vocal delivery for the most impact from his audience. What surprises us most is that he doesn’t seem to ever need to give his voice a break in his band, “Kevin P. Gilday & The Glasgow Cross” exploring topics on grief, toxic masculinity and the precarious nature of modern life – all imbued with Kevin’s trademark dark wit. We’re enthralled by your work, Kevin!

Kevin has performed widely, from Hollywood to East Kilbride, including major festivals (BBC 6Music Festival and Glastonbury), Fringes, (Edinburgh, Toronto, Vancouver) and tours of the UK, Germany, Canada and the US. He’s also supported artists such as Akala, Saul Williams, Jackie Kay, Sage Francis, Liz Lochhead and George the Poet.
When he’s not focusing on his own career and interests, Kevin is supporting up-and-coming poets to find their voice in organisations he founded such as “Sonnet Youth”, a spoken word cabaret night and “The Scribbler’s Union”, a digital poetry workshop.
Kevin lives and breathes the life of a proud Glaswegian, and we’re happy to have him be a part of the Ace Voices family! Yaldi!
